Tezpur University

Tezpur University, located at Napam, about 15 kms. east of Tezpur, was established as a Central University in the year 1994, by an act of the Parliament (Act. No- 45, 1993). Sri P.V. Narsimha Rao, former Prime Minister of India, announced the opening of the university.

Tezpur is a scenic, historic as well as a tourist place with beautiful surroundings and the establishment of the university offers the student community, a privilege to visit the state of Assam and celebrate its beauty along with excellent higher education.

Tezpur University provides opportunities in the spheres of post- graduation and research. The university endeavours to provide employment oriented and interdisciplinary programmes apart from the other post-graduate courses. It also aims to impart research courses in the relevant areas which lead us to national integration and promote the entire student community to develop their abilities in field of science and technology.
